Grief and Loss

Grief and loss are predictable responses to the death of a loved one or the end of a significant relationship. Grief can take many different forms including shock, denial, anger, sadness, or acceptance; but one thing for sure is that it’s a unique process for each person. It mostly involves overwhelming sadness, emptiness or even feeling disarrayed. Healing from such loss takes time and compassion towards oneself because this is not something that happens overnight.

Friends, family, and even professional counselors provide much-needed support in these hard times. One way that people who are mourning find strength is by understanding their emotions and discovering ways of honoring the deceased loved one or broken-up partner.
